LTA AWARDS NATIONAL FINALS

LTA NATIONAL FINALS 2026

It wasn’t just a good day - it was a standout moment of recognition and pride at the LTA National Finals on Thursday 16th April, where dedication, community spirit, and excellence across tennis were celebrated in style.

Leading the headlines was Nicola Webber, who was honoured with the prestigious LTA Official of the Year award. Her contribution to officiating across the county has been nothing short of exceptional, and this recognition reflects her commitment, professionalism, and passion for the game. Those who have worked alongside Nicola know the consistency and care she brings to every tournament, making this achievement especially meaningful.

We also proudly saw representation across several other categories, with outstanding individuals and initiatives reaching the national finals. While they didn’t take home the top awards on the night, being named finalists is a remarkable achievement in itself.

Sarah Bagnall from Blagdon was in the Volunteer of the Year category, The Deaf & Hard of Hearing Padel Competition for Competition of the Year, highlighting its impact in making the sport more inclusive and accessible. Meanwhile, both Bristol and Bath were named finalists for University of the Year, reflecting the strength and success of university tennis programmes in the county.

Altogether, it was an amazing day - one filled with celebration, recognition, and inspiration. Achievements like these reflect the strength of the tennis community and the people who make it thrive. There is immense pride in Nicola and all she has done for officiating in the county, as well as in every individual and initiative who made it to the national finals.

Thank you to Claire Nutt (Avon Awards Lead), Carol Weeks (Chair of Avon Tennis) and Mandy Stonier (Avon Clubs and Venues Lead & LTA Councillor) for going along to the NTC to support our finalists.
